When Rowena Eckland (Nicollette Sheridan) returns to her home town to bury her mother and take over her business, she falls in love with Jude Snow (Adrian Pasdar), the son of a well-to-do store owner. However Jude is not aware that Rowena once had a love affair with his charming but unscrupulous older brother Sonny (Joe Lando) and when Sonny also returns to town to find that Jude has the woman he wants and that he is planning to ask Rowena to marry him, it leads to all kinds of problems between the two brothers before Jude finally discovers the painful truth about Sonny.
